President’s Opening Remarks

Guest Speaker

Mr. McKillip, East Lake Principal presented. PARP going on. Highlights at East Lake: highly recommend Raise Craze. Arts in Ed coordinating with art teacher working on a unity mural. Helps with author residence program. Submerge Storytelling a hit. District initiatives, high school students on student advisory met with fifth graders to discuss social media awareness. Global play day through one of the teachers. Unstructured play, with an hour of device free play. Kindergarten registration went well, numbers are up.

Executive Committee

Lori Verdone, Correspondence Secretary, reported no correspondence. Minutes approved as filed

M. Murphy presented Treasurer’s report. Reconciled by Katie Beleckas. Report attached to master copy of minutes.

Committee Reports

Marion Murphy, Nominating Committee Chairperson, no report provided, but committee will meet soon.

L. Verdone, Procedures Committee, reported on proposed changes. Vote to approve Procedures tabled to allow time for members to review. Proposed changes attached to master copy of minutes.

Gina Cutter, Co-Chair of Health and Wellness committee presented report. Chairs asked for results of unit votes on HPV Vaccine Mandate Statement in Opposition. Majority not achieved. Tabled until next meeting.

Break ​from President’s Reports as J. Azzariti welcomed Guest Speaker, Mr. Heckleman, from Massapequa School District. Mr. Heckleman presented the new school lunch website. J. Azzariti asks all units to share the information with their members.

New Business

Regina Rodriguez resigned as Chair of Social Media Committee. President requested the Executive Board members to email her with interest for a new Social Media Chair.

2nd Vice President Cher Lepre formally resigned from her position. The vacancy for 2nd Vice President is to be filled per bylaws at the next meeting. President asks for nominations by email.
